Doing Good Work in Africa which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic is a 501c3 non-profit organization that connects brilliant and innovative university students to Africa-based organizations working to address challenges with impactful and scalable initiatives.
DOWA believes that the challenges we face on the African continent present opportunities, and connecting those with the skills to those working to address these challenges can result in more effective solutions. While we welcome people to come and experience the beauty and benefits of the continent, we believe it would be extremely beneficial to have the change agents amongst them effect exponential change by sharing their knowledge with us, while building a culture of collaboration amongst all stakeholders. Our mission is to connect student interns to organizations doing good, scalable and impactful work in Africa.
Our vision is to create a pipeline of innovators who understand Africa. As entrepreneurs and business leaders of the future, DOWA’s interns are expected to continue contributing to the development of Africa in their respective fields by using the knowledge and experiences from the internships to develop innovative solutions for tackling Africa’s challenges.
Stay tuned for the announcement of our Summer 2021 Interns cohort.
