About Us
Our Impact
Doing Good Work in Africa (DOWA) which was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic is a 501c3 non-profit organization. DOWA is a free internship placement program for self-motivated, forward-thinking students who seek internships that provide diverse, experiential learning opportunities in high-impact, innovative sectors in Africa.
Mission
DOWA believes that the challenges faced on the African continent present opportunities for brilliant students; through internships, students can learn from innovators. Our mission is to connect students to innovators who are developing solutions to multi-layered challenges that are scalable and impactful; as a pipeline to develop future innovators, investors and advocates that can impact their local communities and beyond.
Vision
Our vision is to create a pipeline of innovators, investors and advocates. As entrepreneurs and business leaders of the future, DOWA’s interns are expected to continue contributing to the development of their local communities and beyond; in their respective fields by using the knowledge and experiences from their internship experience to develop innovative solutions for tackling local and global challenges.
